Monday 18th May

Good morning everyone, and welcome to Water Week!

Let’s start with our arty Monday – as all the Little Stars know, be creative and let your projects go where you like – these are ideas to get you going.

Want to  make a cereal box box aquarium? Cut a rectangle shape on the large side of the box. Paint or paper the inside to be your water.

Underneath is the bottom of the sea, you can stick shells, sand, little stones, pieces of sponge. Pipe cleaners & crepe paper make good plants and seaweed. Maybe you have real dried sea-weed to put in? Cut out paper fish, jelly fish or whatever you choose for your water scene. Through small holes in the top (use a pen to make a small hole) you can pull through your pipe-cleaner or wool with your fish stuck on the end to make it look like your sea creatures are swimming. Paint or decorate the outer frame.

You can keep adding to your aquarium as you find things or make salt dough corral to place in the bottom.

Let’s get ready for tomorrow!..Freeze It…

Find a plastic or metal bowl or empty yoghurt pot, any size of freezable container to fit inside your freezer, check first for space.

Place your chosen treasures, such as  toy fish, Arctic animals, toys, cars, shells, stones – anything you like –  and cover with water. You can do as many as you like, and glitter or food colouring are fun additions.

If you have room for a baking tray, freeze a layer of water to create a mini ice hockey pitch!

We’ll see you all tomorrow folks – feel free to email in pictures of your wonderful projects to movillepreschool@live.com

Today’s story is Bringing Down the Moon, read by Leanne, we hope you enjoy it.
