Autumn term – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree

At Little Stars this autumn we have had our first apple on the tree in the garden. It was eaten and very much enjoyed, along with tomatoes from the polytunnel and a pumpkin that we were able to carve out for Halloween. Growing our own produce is a fantastic way of staying in touch with where our food comes from.

We also had a visit from local author David Simpson, who told us his new story about Kit the squirrel, to the delight of the children and parents.

A big congratulations to our team member Maria, who received a distinction in her dissertation on children’s rights. Thank you to all the children who helped her with her research. We are very proud of Maria, who will now graduate with her masters from Queen’s University, Belfast.
