Hello everyone, you are very welcome to Little Stars  Bakery: Little Stars Bake Off Challenge! Here are today’s ideas to get you started – pick and choose as it suits.

To make a basic dough to play with: mix flour and salt together (about a cup of each) and add a little water to make a dough. Can you work hard to knead the dough?Can you make a swirl? Try making dough animals, get creative! 

To make something delicious to eat: Do you have a favourite recipe in your family? A favourite thing you like to bake? Follow a recipe, weigh the ingredients, bake and enjoy sharing and eating together.

Set up a bakery: Are you ready for customers? Do you have a uniform? Prices? Labels? A sign? Enjoy a break to taste what you make. (Customers could include family members, teddies or toys).

Learning points: We are strengthening our finger muscles (early writing prep), releasing tension, concentrating, playing independently, taking the lead, making choices, managing changing thought processes, developing and practising numeracy and literacy skills, taking part in role play, engaging with our family history and culture.
