Hi Little Stars! It’s discovery week and it’s time to get messy!

Today we are going to make our own gloop…

Mix cornflour with water in a basin, add washable paint or food colouring if you like. What happens when you touch it?

Put a bin liner over a large surface and pour flour on top. Shaving Foam also works well. You can ride toy cars  (moon buggies) to make tracks, make handprints or footprints and draw with your finger in the mixture. What things make prints and patterns? What Alien creatures have made tracks? Where are they going?

This is great messy play for younger (and older!) family members too.

Find things to hide and then fish out from any of the mixtures (plastic toy animals, stones, shells, pasta) – use chop sticks or play tweezers or  sticks  or spoons to pick them up and move around, and see what you can discover in the gloop.

Learning focus:

We are developing our dexterity and pincer grip as a foundation for control when drawing and writing.

Today’s story is read by Leanne, we hope you all enjoy it and we’ll see you tomorrow.

We love to see your pictures (no people please): email them in to movillepreschool@live.com
