Hi and welcome to Little Stars virtual preschool! Each day there are new and interesting things to do, hear and play. As all Little Stars families know, you can take your ideas and projects as far as you like, in any direction you like – these are ideas to get you started, and your contributions for the group will be warmly welcomed. Follow your child’s lead during activities.
Wednesday 1st April: Today’s virtual preschool is inspired by one of our Little Stars families who sent us a picture of the fantastic truck stop cafe. We will be finishing with a story together… Let’s get started!
Time to get building! That’s right Little Stars, Wednesdays are a building day. Let’s see what kind of race tracks and roads we can make…
Using old newspaper and sellotape, roll up the newspaper into a tight tube, and secure with tape. You now have the edge of your racetrack! Make as many as you like, and lay the rolled up newspaper out end to end. Use your toy vehicles to play.
You might like to build in the garden, or in a room in the house. You might not want to build a race track or road – what else can you build with rolled up newspaper? Try tiny furniture, houses or any other structure you like.
Babies in the house? Let them crunch and rip the paper, make little scrunched up paper balls for them to chase.
Want to take it further? Decorate or paint your creations – can you build other structures, such as bridges, paper trees, houses? A challenge for the adults / older children: can you make a chair using rolled up newspapers and sit on it?

Remember to make yourselves a Little Stars snack – that’s fruit or vegetables, and water to drink. Email in pictures of your snacks too (no people in the pictures folks)…good food = good mood.
